During his recent interview with Time Magazine, Leonardo DiCaprio revealed that his stepmother is Sikh. Yes, you read that right! While talking about his father, the Wolf Of The Wall Street star stated that Peggy Ann Farrar, his stepmom is Sikh whereas his father, George DiCaprio belongs to the hippie counterculture. The actor added that George grew up in San Francisco and Los Angeles and hung out with a lot of the underground art movement in LA in the 70s.
As far as his stepmother goes, Peggy is reportedly an Amrithdhari Sikh and she has been spotted in Indian wear accompanied by turbans. She began wearing turbans years after joining this sect. For the unversed, Leonardo’s father married his mother, Irmelin Indenbirken in 1964 and parted ways in 1975. He married Peggy in 1995. After what Leonardo revealed in the said interview, fans couldn’t help but react to how surprising this information was. Many expressed their happiness over the fact that Peggy is a Sikh woman.
