One of the most popular Netflix drama Squid Game’s third and final instalment is on the way and fans can’t keep calm! South Korean actor Lee Jung Jae has taken a moment on the journey that made him a global sensation. Talking about his iconic role as Seong Gi Hun, aka Player 456 in the show, the actor isn’t quite ready to say goodbye to his character that changed the trajectory of his life and career.

Lee Jung Jae On Squid Games’

The Primetime Emmy award-winner Lee Jung Jae told PTI that he hadn’t said goodbye to Gi-hun yet even though they had wrapped the production of the show. He said, “As an actor and as part of those that have created the show, I feel like seeing how the audience responds to it is also part of the journey. So when we get to do that, then I think I’ll be ready to say goodbye.” When asked about the lessons he learnt while filming Squid Games, the actor said that he learnt one of the biggest lessons that people ‘tend to forget’ in life. He explained that the importance of  understanding and helping people in their time of need is one important lesson that the show had taught him.

Squid Game, created by Hwang Dong Hyuk, is a futuristic survival thriller show featuring 456 financially desperate players. They compete in a series of children’s games to win a cash reward of 45.6 billion Korean won (about $38 million). The cost of losing the games is death. In season 2, Gi Gun returns to the game determined to find the brain behind the Squid Game. Whether or not he is able to divulge the identity of the person behind the game will be revealed in Season 3.

Squid Game 3 will be available on Netflix on June 27. Aside from Jung Jae, the show will include Lee Byung Hun, Wi Ha Joon, Im Si Wan, Park Sung Hoon, Kang Ha Neul, and others.
