Le Sserafim Eunchae Vape Controversy

On February 5th, a post on the Korean online forum Pann went viral. In the post, the user claimed to have spotted an e-cigarette, also known as a vape, in a photo Eunchae had posted of herself while dining with friends. As a result, questions were raised on underage vaping. It created a stir on the internet as Eunchae is 18 and is the youngest member of the group Le Sserafim. So, they started discussing whether she was legally allowed to vape or not. The same user also speculated about why Eunchae had deleted the photo and was it because she realised the vape was visible.

However, many netizens and fearnots (their fandom name) came in defence of Eunchae. They noticed that the object in the photo was clearly positioned near her friend, and the device belonged to someone else at the table. They criticised the user for jumping to conclusions and seemingly trying to damage Eunchae’s reputation. Many felt the accusations were baseless and a clear attempt to defame the young idol.
