K-pop girl group LE SSERAFIM recently released their new comeback song ‘Spaghetti’ featuring BTS J-Hope. While the song was received well critically, ‘Spaghetti’s’ chart performance has been allegedly underwhelming compared to the group’s previous releases. A post is now going viral on the Korean discussion forum Nate Pann that has accused J-Hope of this outcome; however, ARMYs were quick to defend the singer. Read on to know more.
J-Hope Criticised For LE SSERAFIM’s Spaghetti Performance
The post that went viral all across social media was posted on Nate Pann by an anonymous user. In it, the user compared LE SSERAFIM’s latest chart performance of ‘Spaghetti’ featuring BTS J-Hope to the group’s older releases like ‘Crazy’ and ‘FEARLESS’. The post also criticised J-Hope’s verse on the song.
The user wrote that they felt the BTS rapper’s verse was weird and questioned why there was a need for a feature. They said that the version without J-Hope sounded better.
However, many netizens and fans came to J-Hope’s defence and called out this unfair targeting. They pointed out that the song is performing extremely well on international charts like Spotify and is even gradually rising on domestic ones like Melon. The song has topped iTunes charts in more than 60 countries and held #1 on European and Worldwide Song charts.
BTS Fans also pointed out that with J-Hope’s verse on the song, the song reached a diverse market, including non-K-pop fans. They also pointed out that collaborations between HYBE artists should be celebrated instead of being turnt into big issues.
LE SSERAFIM released their single album on October 24. ‘Spaghetti’ is a powerful and experimental track that consists of catchy beats and a fun choreography. The album also includes a B-side titled Pearlies (The World Is My Oyster)
