Even though we have reached the 21st century with people on social media being aware and respectful about people embracing themselves as they are, show business sometimes gets too critical about one’s looks. From the way one looks to their skin tone, sometimes the surroundings can be harsh and while many have talked about facing such issues, actor Krystle Dsouza is the latest. In a recent chat, the actor revealed that she was initially given a hard time because of her skin tone and was even given weird tricks to ‘look better.’

Krystle Dsouza On Being Criticised For Her Skin Tone

In a recent interview with News18 Showsha, Krystle Dsouza revealed that she was given a lot of free advice in the past and is even now. She said, “I remember receiving this advice that I should wash myself with milk so that my skin looks fair.” She added that at that time, she kept thinking what about her allergies? The actor further stated that she doesn’t want to be fair as she is an Indian who loved her skincare.

But the thing about senseless criticism is that it’s never just for one thing. Dsouza revealed that she had also been criticised for her eye colour due to which she had to wear contact lenses for a major part of her career. She said that when she was doing Fittrat, she had to wear lenses every single day of her life as they said green eyes, which was her natural eye colour, would not go on a positive role. She added, “I don’t know why but I believed them and put on dark brown lenses for almost ten years.”

The actor said that now she is in the place to throw back at the criticism she received. She said that people who knew her, knew she had green eyes but not the people who saw her on-screen. So if someone told her something like that, she would not take it. Krystle embraced the scrutiny an actor has to be in while they are in the limelight. She said that she has become thick-skinned now and doesn’t take it all seriously. Which is why she was confident about gaining a few kilos for her upcoming release Visfot.
