Sameer Wankhede, the ex-NCB officer who made headlines during Aryan Khan’s 2021 drug case on the cruise, is again in the limelight as Aryan’s directorial debut series, The Ba***ds of Bollywood, included a lookalike of him ridiculing him. After the release, Wankhede filed a Rs. 2 crore defamation case against Aryan, Netflix, and Red Chillies Entertainment. Though the case has again brought Wankhede to the forefront of discussions, his wife, actress Kranti Redkar, has also come into the limelight with her strong defence. But who is she? Who Is Kranti Redkar, Sameer Wankhede’s Wife?
From the streets of Mumbai, Kranti Redkar started her acting journey with the Marathi movie Sun Asavi Ashi. Her role in the blockbuster dance number Kombdi Palali from Jatra: Hyalagaad Re Tyalagaad made her a household name. She also played roles in top Marathi hits like Sakkha Savatra, Kho-Kho, Teen Bayka Fajiti Aika and Sugar Salt Ani Prem.
Besides Marathi films, Kranti also established herself in Hindi productions, such as TV series like Chittod Ki Rani and Simply Sapne. She also featured prominently in Prakash Jha’s award-winning film Gangaajal. Venturing into the direction department, she debuted in 2015 as the director of a Marathi film called Kaakan.
Interestingly enough, Kranti and Sameer were also college classmates in Ramnarain Ruia College but fell out of touch after graduation. Years down the line, they met again in a casual encounter at an airport. From being friends, their relationship grew to love, and they exchanged vows in a secret ceremony on March 29, 2017. The duo are now parents to twin daughters Zyia and Zyda.

When Sameer was accused of bribery in the Aryan Khan case, Kranti defended him, terming it a malicious attempt to defame his name. Recently, she also had a pointed jab at Aryan’s series The Ba***ds Of Bollywood, reminding everyone of India’s serious drug issue and appreciating her husband’s efforts.
