K-pop idols Lee Seung-gi and EXO’s Baekhyun are in danger of losing their homes! Cha Ga-won, the Chairperson of  One Hundred Label, has a long list of tax avoidance and fraud accusations against her; the latter including a lawsuit of 7.5 million USD (10 million KRW). Seized by the officials as Cha owns them, the two properties run the risk of getting taken over completely.

Lee Seung-gi And EXO’s Baekhyun Caught In Chairman’s Alleged Fraud Drama

After being accused of not paying the idols from One Hundred (of which the two idols are a part), Cha Ga-won got into trouble for tax evasion. The National Tax Service announced the seizure of several luxury La Nouveau (or Lanuvo) villas owned by her. Her property ownership rights have also been suspended.

Lee Seung-gi and Baekhyun took out personal loans to lease their houses; presumably to be lump sums of 10.5 billion KRW (~7.17 million USD) and 16.0 billion KRW (~10.9 million USD), respectively. Now, the properties originally owned by Cha are in a state of uncertainty. If sold off, the two idols might not only lose their place of residence, but also have to bear the brunt of the loan personally. The Lanovu Phase 1 villas of the singers, along with two others in the same compound, have undergone seizure. There is a real chance of Baekhyun and Lee needing to find other places to live.

What Else Is Up With The Two?

Lee Seung-gi was in the news when his in-laws allegedly manipulated shares in early 2025. He broke ties with them, but his reputation took a hit. On the work front, he released a ballad, ‘Empty.’ We’re hoping to see him in a K-drama soon, but nothing has been announced as of now.

Meanwhile, Baekhyun (along with Chen and Xiumin) has been embroiled in a lawsuit with SM Entertainment. Excluded from EXO’s latest album, fans have expressed their discontent over social media, vowing not to support it. Released in 2025, ‘Essence of Reverie’ was his last album, along with the attached tour. There is also a planned CBX concert on February 6 and 7, 2026.

Here’s hoping that better things come to pass for these two idols!
