KPop Demon Hunters Breaks BTS’ Dynamite Billboard Hot 100 Record With Golden!

Netflix’s animated film KPop Demon Hunters has achieved unprecedented success. From becoming the most viewed content on Netflix to having its soundtrack chart globally, the film has already become a pop culture icon just a few months after its release. Now in another remarkable achievement, the film’s song ‘Golden’ has now charted on the Billboard Hot 100 for four consecutive weeks for four consecutive weeks, surpassing the record held by BTS for their song ‘Dynamite.’ Read on to know more.

KPop Demon Hunters’ Song Golden Surpasses BTS’ Dynamite

Recently, Billboard announced that the track ‘Golden’ performed by fictional trio HUNTR/X in KPop Demon Hunters has surpassed BTS’ 2020 hit Dynamite, which held the No. 1 spot for three weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. ‘Golden’ has now spent four consecutive weeks at No. 1, and with this, they have joined the only few K-pop songs that have managed to top the Billboard chart. The song is now second to BTS’s  ‘Butter’, which led for 10 weeks.

Billboard also reported that ‘Golden’ remains a strong performer across all metrics. The song stayed at No. 1 on the Billboard Streaming Songs chart for the seventh week, climbed from No. 29 to No. 24 on Radio Songs, and secured a second week at No. 1 on Digital Song Sales. The track also earned 34.5 million official streams, 22.1 million radio airplay impressions, and 9,000 sales in the United States between August 29 and September 4.

The song is sung by EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and REI AMI, the voices behind HUNTR/X. And not only ‘Golden’but three other songs from the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack are dominating the charts. The other songs charting on the Billboard Hot 100 chart are ‘Your Idol’ at No. 4, ‘Soda Pop’ at No. 5, and ‘How It’s Done’ at No. 9. This marks the first time in the 67-year history of the Hot 100 that a soundtrack has placed four tracks in the Top 10 at the same time.
