Korea Popular Culture And Arts Awards 2025: BLACKPINK’s Rosé, G-Dragon And More Honoured This Year!

The 2025 Korea Popular Culture and Arts Awards will be held this year on October 23. The ceremony will be held at the National Theatre of Korea in Jung-gu, Seoul, with the president’s commendation. The awards, first launched in 2010, are now in it’s 16th year and are still regarded as one of Korea’s highest honours. The 2025 Korea Popular Culture and Arts Awards honours 31 individuals and is hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. From BLACKPINK’s Rosé to Lee Byun Wook, here is the entire list of recipients receiving the award this year.

Criteria For Selection

The criteria for selection for the awards are based on years of contribution, social impact, industry influence and performance.
The 2025 Korea Popular Culture and Arts Awards are given to individuals and teams across 4 categories, namely:
– Cultural Medal
– Presidential Commendation
– Prime Minister’s Commendation
– Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Commendation

Cultural Medal Honourees:

– Silver Crown Cultural Medal: Kim Hae-sook (actor)

– The Bronze Crown Cultural Medal: Lee Byung-hun (actor), Jung Dong-hwan (actor)

– The Jade Crown Cultural Medal: G-Dragon (singer), Jeon Yoo-sung (posthumous comedian), Bae Han-sung (voice actor)

Presidential Commendation Honourees

– Actors: Kim Mi-kyung, Lee Min-ho, Lee Jung-eun
– Singers/Groups: TVXQ, BLACKPINK’s Rosé, SEVENTEEN
– Voice Actor: Kim Eun-young

Prime Minister’s Commendation Honourees

– Actors: Kim Ji-won, Kim Tae-ri, Park Bo-young, Park Hae-jun, Joo Ji-hoon

– Singers/Groups: ATEEZ, TWICE

– Performer: Choi Hee-sun

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Commendation Honourees:

– Actors: Ko Yoon-jung, Byeon Woo-seok, Ji Chang-wook, Chu Young-woo

– Singers/Groups: RIIZE, LE SSERAFIM, i-dle, ZEROBASEONE

– Comedian: Lee Soo-ji

– Choreographer: BEBE

Popular Culture And Arts Production Staff Award

– Ryu Sung-hee (Art Director, I Was Fooled)
– Park Sung-il (Sound Director)
– Jo In-hyung (Editor-in-Chief)
– Ok Im-sik (DIT)

This category recognises behind-the-scenes creators and takes place a day after the main ceremony.

Additional honours were also given to technical professionals handling lighting, costume, stage art directors, etc, under the Content Promotion Agency award included in the umbrella of the Korea Popular Culture and Arts Awards.
