Aditya Dhar’s film Dhurandhar, featuring Ranveer Singh, has become a massive success at the box office. Though the film initially faced many legal issues due to some complaints about the script. But even amid the chaos, it has hit a sixer and has won the audience’s hearts with Akshaye Khanna being the centre of attention with his role as Rehman Dakait. But did you know the real-life version of this character was a lot darker? Know here.
About Rehman Dakait
Born in 1976 in Karachi, Rehman Dakait was the son of Abu Mohammad and his second wife, Khadija. When he was just 13 years old, he stabbed a man who denied him permission to burst crackers. His birth and rise in the world of crime were swift, with him killing two drug peddlers at the prime age of 15. He was called the ‘King of Lyari’ after this, but he also reportedly murdered his own mother at the same age.
In 1995, he escaped from jail and allegedly shot his mother dead. One of the reasons for this was reportedly that he had learned that his mom had become an informant for the police. The other reason that people believed was true was that Rehman had learned that his mom had had an affair with one of the rival gang members. As per reports, Rehman Dakait was married 3 times and had 13 kids. It was further said that he, along with his three partners, was killed during a police encounter in 2009, something which was shown in Dhurandhar as well.
