Here’s How Kim Soo Hyun’s Filming Timeline May Debunk Allegations Of Him Dating Kim Sae Ron

The case of actress Kim Sae Ron’s death and Kim Soo Hyun’s alleged involvement in the case has caused a lot of controversy. Sae Ron’s bereaved family has claimed that she had been in a romantic relationship with the It’s Okay Not To Be Okay actor when she was a minor. They also released text messages that Soo Hyun had allegedly sent to Kim Sae Ron in 2016. Media Outlet Published To Evidence Refuting Kim Soo Hyun’s Underage Dating Allegations

The messages that Kim Sae Ron’s family released included alleged romantic texts from Kim Soo Hyun. Her family claims that these messages were exchanged between the two in 2015-16 while Sae Ron was 17 years old, implying that Soo Hyun had been grooming her. 

A press conference was held by the family’s legal representative, Attorney Boo Ji Seok, and Kim Sae Ui, head of the Garo Sero Research Institute, earlier this year. In it, they disclosed text conversations that Kim Sae Ron allegedly had in June 2016 with an unnamed man. 

In the texts, the man appeared affectionate and had sent a series of romantic messages. Attorney Boo claimed that the man who sent these messages was Soo Hyun. This instantly triggered many, as Kim Sae Ron was 17 at that time, and the conversation seemed extremely inappropriate. 

The Actor’s Filming Schedule For Real In 2016

However, a report published by a Korean media outlet on October 13, 2025, suggests that the man who sent these messages to Kim Sae Ron was not Kim Soo Hyun. According to the magazine Money Today, he was busy filming his movie Real at that time. He filmed on 18 days that month, including June 22, 25, and 26, the exact days when the messages were allegedly sent. The filming followed an intense schedule, and Soo Hyun arrived early and left late every day. 

A member of the filming crew also talked to Money Today, saying, “Kim Soo Hyun was unbelievably busy at that time. He was shooting intense action scenes every day, often drenched in water. He’d come home, collapse into bed, and wake up before dawn to head back to the set. There was absolutely no time to be waiting around for anyone.”

The actor’s attorney continues to refute all allegations of the actor’s involvement in Sae Ron’s death and claims that the opposite party knows the real identity of the sender.
