Kim Jung Hyun recently shared his journey of overcoming a past controversy with Seohyun on a variety show hosted by Shin Dong Yup. As a guest, he opened up about his return to the spotlight after a challenging period. When the host spoke about life’s toughest moments, Kim Jung Hyun reflected on his experiences, explaining that what once felt overwhelming now seemed less intimidating.
Kim Jung Hyun shared that looking back, his challenges didn’t feel as heavy as they did at the time. He admitted feeling ashamed and wronged during his controversy but realised over time that holding onto pain only caused more suffering. He chose to let go and live as if those tough moments never happened. This mindset helped him meet kinder people and grow stronger. For him, it wasn’t about ignoring the hurt but about deciding to keep moving forward.
All About The Past Controversy
The controversy began in 2018 at a press conference for the drama Time. Kim Jung Hyun seemed distant and even ignored a kind gesture from co-star Seohyun. Netizens lashed out at him for his cold attitude. Later, the reason behind his cold attitude surfaced. As per Korean media outlets, his actions were influenced by his then-rumoured girlfriend, Seo Ye-Ji.
According to Dispatch, Seo Ye-Ji asked him to avoid any friendly or romantic interactions with Seohyun and other female staff on set. She also reportedly pushed him to change scenes which involved physical contact.
