Ever since Boys Planet II has started airing, the survival show has been embroiled in controversies. But the biggest one yet is when Kim Geon Woo, the centre of the show, got accused of bullying by an anonymous poster. The whistleblower alleged that Kim Geon Woo abused his influence as a favoured trainee to intimidate others, which even led to some seeking treatment for anxiety and depression.

Kim Geon Woo’s Apology Note

On July 16, Boys II Planet contestant Kim Geonwoo was accused by an anonymous poster of bullying fellow trainees during his time at ‘Company B.’ Now, Kim Geon Woo has finally responded to these allegations by posting a handwritten note. In the note, he admitted to past mistakes and expressed regret for his immature behaviour as a team leader.

He wrote, “I sincerely apologise to everyone hurt by my actions. Back then, I was under pressure to perform well and lacked the maturity and skills to lead. I ended up causing pain to several people, and I deeply regret it.”

Kim Geon Woo acknowledged that while parts of the original post were exaggerated or untrue, he still wanted to take responsibility for any harm he caused.

Despite Geon Woo’s apology, people remain hostile towards the Boys Planet II contestant. Some have criticised that apology and think it is just damage control. Others have defended Geonwoo by saying that the allegations golf no evidence and thus cannot be true until proven so.

In another related development, WAKEONE Entertainment, the agency tied to the trainee, also released a statement explaining the confusion around Kim’s contract status with them.

They clarified that Heonwoo applied to Boys II Planet before officially joining the company, which led to discrepancies in his participation. WAKEONE has now terminated contracts with the trainee, confirming Kim Geon Woo will continue on the show as an independent contestant.
