Rishab Shetty’s Kantara is THE movie everyone is talking about. Everyone, including celebrities, seems to be watching the movie and recommending it to their friends and family as well. And it has generated plenty of Oscar buzz, with people rooting for it over RRR. Amidst this craze, when Pushpa actor Rashmika Mandanna told the media that she did not get the time to watch the film, she started getting trolled for it.

People began going after Rashmika, making proclamations that she had forgotten her roots. After all, it was Kantara director Rishab Shetty who had directed her debut film Kirik Party. Rashmika Mandanna chose to ignore the drama surrounding this and not respond to any of these trolls.

However, she did publish a note on social media talking about receiving a lot of hate since starting her career and being turned into a punching bag for trolls and negativity. She further said that she is aware that the life she has chosen comes with a price and she cannot be liked and appreciated by everyone. Regardless, she plans to continue to work hard and put out work that everyone likes and is proud of.

Recently, Kannada star Kiccha Sudeep also responded to the trolling that Rashmika Mandanna has been facing. A celebrity’s life isn’t simple, he said, because while they do get all the garlands, they do have to deal with the stones as well. It’s a well-packaged deal. He isn’t wrong there now, is he?

Sudeep further emphasised that as public figures, celebs have to learn to handle and deal with the negativity, and understand that once you turn into a public figure, there will always be garlands and happy moments but there will always be eggs, tomatoes, and stones also coming at you. Learning to deal with it is very essential.

Although he might have a point about the lives of actors, we still think that people may have unnecessarily overreacted to Rashmika’s statement. Such a massively negative response doesn’t make a lot of sense. Does it? After all, Rashmika Mandanna is working hard to reach her dreams and deserves support and appreciation, doesn’t she? And not watching a movie does not mean she doesn’t care for it.

Plenty of actors don’t watch new releases; some have admitted to not even watching their own films. The question then arises, are people just looking for excuses to troll actresses, whether it is for their clothes, the men in their lives, and now for not watching movies?
