While praising KATSEYE, the actress added that she still loved BLACKPINK even though they were “giving us nothing right now.” This comment upset many and Blinks voiced their frustration. They accused Sofia of seeking attention and disrespecting the K-pop group.
The controversy grew when Sophia Laforteza of KATSEYE liked the viral video. Blinks saw this as a support of Sofia Wylie’s comment, which they felt shaded BLACKPINK. Fans took to social media to express their disappointment.

On the other hand, KATSEYE’s fans, known as Eyekons, came to Sophia’s defence. They said that she likely liked the video because it praised her group, not because of the comment about BLACKPINK.
