The group was formed on a reality show and the members shot to fame fast. From their performances to songs, it gained immense popularity and hate comments too. And now in conversation with the BBC, the group opened up about receiving death threats, racist comments, and more.
Lara Raj described the mental weight of seeing thousands of “death threats”. Born in America to parents from India, she faced extra attacks based on her skin colour and roots. Even false tips were sent to immigration officials and to find peace, she removed her account from X (Formerly Twitter).
Another member, Sophia Laforteza, pointed out the short period the group has been active. In just months, negative remarks have piled up against the singers and their relatives. She understands that it comes with her job but reminded everyone that they get hurt no matter how prepared someone thinks they are.
Following their revelation, fans expressed their anger. Many demand action against offensive comments and legal steps for the worst situations. Well, this is extremely frustrating! They deserve to live freely without any fear in their minds.
