The official statement from her company says that she will be focussing on “her health and well-being.” However, the singer revealed on her personal Weverse that she was okay and taking care of herself. Then, she said that some things were out of her control. These cryptic statements made people online believe something was amiss. Additionally, KATSEYE’s Manon recently liked a video speaking about the alleged racism faced by Black members of popular girl groups. This Instagram activity came on the heels of the hiatus announcement, further fuelling suspicions that she was being forced to take a break.

In other events, member Daniela’s father supposedly commented on an Instagram video talking about KATSEYE being “bigger than one girl.” When fans tried to talk about the group being made up of six, he added that five were fine too. This angered many, especially since fans have been finding evidence that Daniela’s styling has been mimicking Manon’s lately. Some netizens even speculated on the severity not in the public eye if Daniela’s father was willing to comment on these things so openly. He apparently implied that Manon wasn’t a hardworker, saying she should return when she was “ready to work.”

The official agency statement just said that she would return when “the time [was] right.” This, along with her own slightly divergent post, has many worried whether Manon would even return from the hiatus.
