Global girl group KATSEYE has been making headlines with their catchy music, energetic choreography and chart-topping hits. However, fans got worried when KATSEYE’s Manon was unable to perform with the group in Japan due to poor health. In a recent live with Megan, the member finally revealed what had happened to her. Read on to know more about the incident.
On August 23, KATSEYE members Manon and Megan did a livestream on Weverse to interact with fans. In the live KATSEYE’s Manon opened up about being sick in Japan and recalled an incident at the Tokyo airport. Manon explained that she had lost consciousness while listening to music, and people around her had to splash water to wake her up. She was then escorted in a wheelchair.
To lighten the mood, Manon and Megan decided to prank call group member Lara. Megan told Lara that Manon had fainted again, and Lara responded by being incredibly concerned, but became annoyed when she found out that they were pranking her. While the prank call was lighthearted, listening to the panic in Lara’s voice made people realise the gravity of the situation. Fans took to social media to express concern over Manon’s blackout episode.
KATSEYE arrived in Japan on August 16 to perform at the Summer Sonic Tokyo event. However, only five members were present as Manon was not able to perform. The music festival shared the update on their official website as well as social media handles. It was reported that Manon’s health worsened after arriving in Tokyo, and she decided to take a rest after consulting a doctor.

This is not the first time that KATSEYE’s Manon has suffered from health problems. The Swiss-Ghanaian singer has been dealing with persistent health issues. She is often seen missing KATSEYE events due to her condition. Manon’s absence from group activities even raised backlash as fans felt that she was purposely being excluded, and there might be a racial undertone to the situation.
