Kareena Kapoor Calls Pregnancy Bible Her "Third Child" In Response To MP High Court's Legal Notice Over Book Title

Kareena Kapoor Khan recently found herself in the midst of a controversy regarding the title of her book, Pregnancy Bible. The issue arose when the Madhya Pradesh High Court issued a legal notice to the actress following a petition that claimed the title was offensive to religious sentiments. In response, Kareena has made it clear that her intention was never to hurt anyone’s beliefs or sentiments.

What Happened?

The legal notice was based on a petition filed by advocate Christopher Anthony, who sought to ban the sale of Kareena’s book. Anthony, a social activist from Jabalpur, argued that the use of the word Bible in the book’s title could be seen as disrespectful to the Christian community. He contended that equating a pregnancy guide with the Bible could be perceived as inappropriate and offensive. In her response, Kareena Kapoor Khan, through her legal representatives, emphasized that the book was a personal project for her, one that she referred to as her third child. She reiterated that the choice of title was not intended to cause any harm or disrespect to any religious group. Kareena’s legal team aimed to address the concerns raised and clarified that the book was meant to be a guide for expectant mothers, drawing on her own experiences during pregnancy.

The controversy has been ongoing since the book’s release, with various parties raising objections to its title. In 2021, another Christian organization had raised similar concerns, leading to a police complaint being filed in Maharashtra. However, both the initial petition and subsequent appeals were dismissed by the courts, which found no grounds to prove that the title was offensive.
