India’s favourite comedian, Kapil Sharma, came to the Neflix’s What Next event held in Mumbai to promote the upcoming season of his show. During this, he also shocked everyone while taking a subtle dig at the gangsters who have their eyes set on him lately. For the unversed, this comes after an association with Lawrence Bishnoi targetted his cafe in Canada three times in the last four months.
What Kapil Sharma Said
Kapil Sharma was on stage alongside Netflix India’s Vice President of Content, Monika Shergill. Monika praised his long affiliation with the platform, noting that the OTT platform had been eager to engage with him for a long time. To this, he said, “We had our eyes set on you for a long time, as did India. Hopefully, police from 11 countries don’t.” When the aduience laughted, the comedian joked about how some gangsters from other countries also have eyes on him. This was his dig at the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
However, realising the gravity of the situation, Kapil smiled and instructed the videographers present to cut it out. But then he realised the incident was being televised live, so he asked people there how much more they could film. Kapil and his wife, Ginni Chatrath, will operate Kap’s Café in Surrey, Canada, in 2025. Shots were fired at the restaurant three times in four months: July, August, and October. Bishnoi’s allies, notably Goldy Dhillon and Kuldeep Sidhu, alias Kulveer Sidhu, took responsibility for it on social media and warned the ‘whole people’ to stay away.
