Kangana Ranaut is currently on promotion duties for her upcoming film–Emergency. During the marketing of the film, the actress has been sharing some unheard stories and her controversial opinions on Bollywood and politics. In the latest interview with Mashable India, the actress revealed she was offered a role in Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanju, which was later played by Anushka Sharma.
Speaking to the host, the actress talked about her relationship with Bollywood celebrities and how she has turned down some popular film roles. Revealing further, she mentioned how Ranbir Kapoor came to her house, and offered her a role in Sanju, which was later played by Anushka Sharma. Ranaut further shared that she declined the role and let go of some very big parts to make a statement. She also mentioned that Akshay Kumar also offered her a part in Singh Is Bling and told her that he feels, she doesn’t wanna work with him. Responding to this, Kangana told Kumar–”I told him, sir, there so much problem with you, I am doing this for women, you also have a daughter. I just want women to know that they also have a status, a voice of their own, we’re not a showpiece.”
Well, fair enough. She also confessed that her decision of turning down such big parts led to troubled bonds with many prominent figures from the fraternity. In the interview, Kangana also spoke about her political stance, Bollywood’s working environment and more. On the professional front, Kangana Ranaut is excited about the release of her forthcoming film–Emergency, which is set to hit the theatres on September 6, 2024.
