Kangana Ranaut Says Kunal Kamra’s Comedy Venue Demolition Was ‘Completely Legal’
The vandalisation of the club in Bandra and threats to Kunal Kamra have been making the headlines.

The internet is currently witnessing a war among comedians and politicians. The vandalisation of the club in Bandra and threats to Kunal Kamra have been making the headlines. After the Maharashtra Minister asked Kamra for an apology, Kangana Ranaut also weighed in on the ongoing matter and said that disgracing someone in the name of comedy is in bad taste.
Kangana Ranaut Calls Out Kunal Kamra
Himachal Pradesh’s BJP MP Kangana Ranaut spoke to the media outside the Parliament recently. She was seen saying, “You may be anyone but disrespecting anyone (is not good). You are disgracing someone in the name of comedy, you are disregarding what he has done. Shinde ji used to drive an auto-rickshaw a while ago.” She said that while Eknath Shinde had made a name for himself, what credentials did comedian Kunal Kamra have?

She suggested that writers and comedians write about literature or comedy scenes in films, rather than abuse in the name of comedy. Kunal Kamra recently performed a parody of a popular Hindi song from the film “Dil Toh Pagal Hai,” apparently referring to Shinde as a ‘gaddar’ (traitor). He also made jokes about recent political developments in Maharashtra, including the Shiv Sena and NCP splits.
Talking about Devendra Fsdnvais’ apology remark, Ranaut emphasised the concern of the society’s whereabouts. She too pushed the comedian for an apology, saying there would be repercussions. On Sunday night, Shiv Sena members vandalized Habitat Studio in Mumbai’s Khar district, where Kamra’s event was held, as well as a hotel where the club is located.
