Kangana Ranaut Says Sara Ali Khan Is “Sanatani”, Claims She Shouldn’t Fear Having The Truth In Writing
On March 17, 2026, chairman Hemant Dwivedi released a statement on behalf of the Badri-Kedar Temple Committee. He said that from this day forth those who weren’t born Hindu (non-Hindus) would not be allowed to enter either of the temples. If they want entry, they must submit an affidavit announcing that they are “Sanatani” and believe in “Hindutva“. Only after accepting this written declaration would the persons be allowed in the temple and its surroundings.

He was then asked specifically about Sara Ali Khan, who has a formerly Sikh mother, Amrita Singh but a Muslim father, Saif Ali Khan. He replied that if she declared her faith towards “Sanatan,” she could enter. This proposal has been supposedly forwarded to the Uttarakhand state government before the Char Dham pilgrimage is set to begin (dates show late April).
When asked about this decision with regards to Sara Ali Khan, Kangana Ranaut replied in Hindi. The Manikarnika actress said everyone was “Sanatani,” referring to people of India. Adding that “Sanatan” has no beginning or end, she voiced this was to do with when one was born. Despite there being thousands of religions, she promulgated all of them to be about 1000-1500 years old. “Sanatan” is the truth, therefore even Sara was “Sanatani.” Concluding, Kangana said that the younger actress should not be afraid to write the truth.
