We all know that Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut is always the one to keep her opinions forward. During the recent promotional events of her upcoming film Emergency, the actress spoke about being offered Deepika Padukone’s role in Padmaavat. A clip of this conversation has been surfacig on the internet. She revealed how she found the role irrelevant. Well, Redditors seem to side with Kangana Ranaut on this one.

During an interview with Abhijeet Bharti, the Emergency actor said that Deepika Padukone was only getting ready in the entire film. She said, “I was also offered Padmaavat. So, I said, ‘Sir (Sanjay Leela Bhansali), if I could get the script of your film, it would be great.’ To this, he replied, ‘I never give scripts.'” Upon her asking what the heroine’s role was about, to which he replied saying that it was just to get ready in a mirror while the hero watches her for the first time. Ranaut said that while watching the film, she realised that he was right and that the heroine was just getting ready in the entire film.

Strangely, many fans of Reddit agreed with this statement of Kangana. One user commented, “Umm apart from her dance and the final scene, she is indeed only getting ready in the entire movie,” while another one said, “Now i’m really thinking about movie and realised that she was portrayed as a trophy that villain wanted to achieve.” They also claimed that the entire film was based around Khilji, played by Ranveer Singh and didn’t portray a good role for Rani Padmavati.
