Last year, there was a lot of discourse around an 8-hour work shift. This began after Deepika Padukone’s exit from Kalki 2, reportedly due to her demand for an 8-hour work shift. Many actors had also reacted to this, while some backed her, others opined, to each their own. After almost a year, the actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut has also shared her thoughts on the same. Read here to know more about it.
Kangana Ranaut On 8-Hour Work Shift
Kangana Ranaut is currently busy with her work as a politician. However, she keeps commenting on all relevant issues, including films. During a recent podcast with ANI, Kangana Ranaut addressed the 8-hour work shift demand raised by Deepika Padukone. The actor backed her up and said that there should not be any issue created out of it, and understood where Deepika Padukone was coming from. Kangana Ranaut said that DP had earned that place and that she was now a mother of a daughter. Kangana Ranaut also called her the topmost actress, and reiterated that if the actor was keen on working for 8-hours, she had earned it.
Kangana also recalled a conversation with Deepika Padukone when the latter was shooting for Imtiaz Ali’s film. Kangna Ranaut remembered DP telling her that she worked for 12-hours a day, and in response, the former said that she worked only for 10 hours during that time. Kangana also recalled those times when they would settle for less than 12-14 hours of work solely because they wanted to be successful and were at it. The actor was also of the opinion that there is a lot of pressure put on women, and she bashed the practise of making women with children work double shifts.
For the unversed, Deepika Padukone will soon be seen in SRK’s King.
