“Multiplexes Are Very Expensive,” Kangana Ranaut Speaks On Behalf Of Indian Middle-Class Families
Please do something about popcorn prices!

Do you believe that nowadays watching films in theatres is no more a basic need but has rather become a luxury? The expensive tickets, popcorn and snacks seem to have demotivated many Indians from watching films on the big screen because it does create a big hole in the pocket. Actress Kangana Ranaut has raised some similar concerns on behalf of all the middle-class families in India and has expressed her wish for doing something about the rising prices in multiplexes.

Kangana Ranaut shared this tweet on the Box Office collections and expressed her concerns over it. She also demanded the opening of more theatres in India and added that the data was not a good sight for the film industry. The Manikarnika actress further shed light on the fact that middle-class men have to spend a huge part of their salary in order to enjoy one film with their family and children. We need more theatres in the country… we need more screens, this is not good for the film industry… having said that watching films in the multiplexes have become very expensive, going with friends /family means a significant part of a middle class person’s salary … something… https://t.co/HQsjen7DTq

Many users elaborated on what Kangana Ranaut said. They highlighted the insane cost of snacks at multiplexes which are actually way more expensive than a movie ticket. Well, some of them also wrote that they didn’t mind spending on movies if only the movies released on the big screen were good. Twitter users also expressed their opinions about good movies being released on various OTT platforms rather than theatres.
Tickets are even affordable but a middle class cannot afford the snacks being sold in Multiplexes.
Spending 3+ hrs inside the complex where you cannot bring outside food.
Ticket may cost 200 but a box of popcorn would cost 300 and a regular glass of cold drink in 200

It’s not about money, people don’t want rubbish love stories anymore, they want some good stories which they’re getting on OTT, and for theatres you can take example KGF, Pushpa, Kaantara etc, if movie is good people will go to theatre

& most important pathetic content which is not worth spending a dime on. Amazing global content is available in the comfort of one's own home. This is a lesson all movie stars need to learn.

There’s nothing to disagree with what Kangana Ranaut or some other Twitterati wrote about the rising costs of watching movies or even the fact that there are way too many options available on OTT. So well, the movie has to be really worth it for the audience to go watch it on the big screen. However, something should be done about those popcorn and cold drink prices, please!
