Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency Needs Changes Before Release Date: CBFC To Bombay HC

There have been some major updates on the clash between Kangana Ranaut and the Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC)  over the former’s film Emergency. The CBFC has given its official statement to the Bombay High Court and stated the film will only be granted certification after the few changes that have been suggested. This came in response to the plea submitted by Zee Studios for the release of the certificate.

CBFC Statement To Bombay HC For Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency

On Thursday, CBFC responded to the plea by Zee Studios in the Bombay High Court over Kangana Ranaut’s film Emergency. In its statement, the CBFC represented by Advocate Abhinav Chandrachud said that the film will be eligible for certification only after the changes are made. In response, Advocate Sharan Jagtiani, representing Zee Studios added that the CBFC has given the film 11 cuts to make, and it is on the filmmaker to decide whether that will happen or not. As per the news, the Bombay High Court has adjourned the matter till September 30.

Emergency is directed by Kangana Ranaut and the actor is going to play the role of India’s former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film also stars Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade and the late Satish Kaushik. The film’s initial release date was September 6, however, due to the certification, the film’s release date was postponed. Kangana Ranaut also wrote about it on Twitter and asked her fans to keep patience as she will soon give them a release date. Her fans gave her immense support in response to the Tweet.

Kangana Ranaut also spoke about the controversy and stated the film is ready to be released but the CBFC not releasing the film’s certification has become the biggest hindrance.
