The film has been doing well at the box office and the actress has given many interviews post the release. In one of the interviews, she spoke about the research behind the film and why she chose to put aside the sensational controversies about Indira Gandhi that people talked about. Kangana Ranaut also recalled the appalling comments from men she had to go through as an actress.

The actress further added that she consciously chose not to add such angles in the film and looked at Indira Gandhi as the Indian Prime Minister.

The actress recalled how someone filed a case against her, while others took credibility for her, and the actress strictly believed that it was unfair
