Kangana Ranaut Claims Her Bollywood Struggle Was More Difficult Than SRK. Accha Ji, Aisa Kya?

Kangana Ranaut, known for her outspoken views in Bollywood, recently shared insights into her journey in the film industry, drawing comparisons to Shah Rukh Khan’s path to stardom. Speaking on Raj Shamani’s podcast, Kangana discussed the similarities and differences in their careers, highlighting her own as particularly strenuous given her background and early struggles.

Kangana Ranaut On Her Bollywood Struggles

Kangana Ranaut noted that both she and Shah Rukh Khan began as outsiders without inherent ties to the film industry. However, she pointed out that while Shah Rukh’s journey from Delhi to Mumbai was a significant transition, her move from a small village in the mountains as a young girl presented a set of challenges that were much more daunting. She acknowledged that Shah Rukh, despite his outsider status, came from a more privileged background that possibly eased his entry into Bollywood. Further elaborating on her career, Kangana commented on the changing nature of stardom in Bollywood. She observed that no new actors from the current generation have reached the kind of stardom enjoyed by earlier icons like Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit, nor have they matched her generation’s success. She attributed part of this shift to the rise of OTT platforms, which have altered how actors gain recognition and build careers outside traditional cinema.

Earlier this year, Kangana drew parallels between her career and Shah Rukh Khan’s, noting periods in their careers marked by a lack of commercial success, followed by significant comebacks with hit films. She cited her own films, such as Queen and Manikarnika, and her upcoming project Emergency, as examples of her perseverance and eventual success in the industry.
