Earlier, Choi Siwon posted a photo of Charlie Kirk with the words ‘Rest in Peace’. Fans spotted the posts quickly and they called the K-pop idol a hypocrite. Hours later, Choi Siwon deleted everything and also spoke up. He said Charlie Kirk was a Christian, dad, and husband, and politics should not stop mourning a life lost. The K-pop idol felt that his words were twisted and to stop more confusion, he took the posts down.

In response, the K-pop idol replied with three simple words: I Love You. But this made things even worse. Fans saw it as tone-deaf and they wanted him to leave the group. One user wrote, “you love us? so why are you mourning someone that hate us and wish us dead?” Another user wrote, “start boycotting the group. they’ll consider kicking him out if elf stop supporting them and going to concerts. you all need to realize that elf hold the power. if you want him out, do something more impactful because a hash tag isn’t enough.”
