ILLIT Under Fire For Allegedly Copying BLACKPINK In MAMIHLAPINATAPAI Cover!

K-pop-ILLIT-Accused-Of-Copying-BLACKPINK-In-New-Album-MAMIHLAPINATAPAI-cover

ILLIT have faced plagiarism accusations since they debuted. They got slammed for copying NewJeans’ dance moves before, and now fans are saying they copied BLACKPINK too. At their recent concert, ILLIT surprised everyone by showing their new album title on a big screen. The word MAMIHLAPINATAPAI appeared in a plain rectangle box, and videos of it spread like wildfire. Many people quickly said it looked just like BLACKPINK’s old logo and promo style. Read on to know all about it!

The moment happened during ILLIT’s ILLIT LIVE ‘PRESS START’ show on March 15 in Seoul. The long title popped up in big letters inside a simple frame. To some fans, it felt too close to how BLACKPINK used to present their name early and the pictures went viral and everyone started sharing their thoughts. They said ILLIT has always kept borrowing from other groups to stay relevant.

One user wrote, “not even accusations these are just plain carbon copies of BLACKPINK logo.” Another user wrote, “The group has no identity at all, so they copy left and right just for noise marketing, how pathetic.”

Not all fans agreed, though. Lots of them shared clear videos and photos from the concert. They said the text was white, not pink. The pink colour only showed up because of stage lights, old screens, or camera settings. They also explained that the format is common and many people do it.

One user wrote, “Nothing real to drag ILLIT, so y’all hallucinate a new problem every other week. You need to seek help for your obsession.” Another user wrote, “They def do have an identity but the color isn’t even pink, the camera picked it up as pink but it’s WHITE and if we’re honest blackpink wasn’t original in BOXING their name.”
