Women are always judged regardless of their actions. From their fashion choices to their personality, there is no winning in it. One prime example is K-pop idols, who are always under the public eye, and every move they make is scrutinised. Recently, idol-turned-actor Hyeri became the target of criticism on an online platform called Pann for being “too friendly” with her male co-stars. Yes, it’s the 21st century, and this is still happening!

As per Koreaboo, the post featured various photos and video clips showing Hyeri interacting with male co-stars over the years. This led to a major discussion on the online platform. One user mentioned that her behaviour showed an extreme interest in men, even though she was in a relationship at the time.

Some users pointed at the difference in how people interact with friends of the same gender versus the opposite gender. They added that while linking arms, hugging, and kissing might be common among same-s*x friends, most people maintain distance and create boundaries with those of the opposite gender. Hence, they thought that Hyeri’s actions weren’t normal.

Furthermore, other users took to the platform and criticised her choice of romantic partners and added that her friendly nature with many attractive men didn’t match well with the type of men she actually dated. The user also mentioned that the actions were not new, as she had received similar negative feedback for her behaviour even when she was in the K-pop group Girls Day.

Netizens stated that her actions were simply part of her personality and asked her to change it after the backlash. The pressure is too much! Can’t women casually interact without being judged? It’s not a big deal, so let’s stop with the criticism. It’s her personality; who are you to judge?
