On March 10, BeLift Lab shared an important update on Weverse. The agency stated that they had thought carefully about ENHYPEN’s future and goals. After long discussions with each member about their dreams and the group’s direction, it became clear that Heeseung had his own distinct musical vision, which the company fully chose to support. Because of this, Heeseung decided to leave ENHYPEN.

From now on, the group will carry out official activities as six members. The agency admitted that such news is hard to take in and might ignite mixed feelings from everyone. Still, they hoped fans would see that this step was taken with the best interests of both the group and Heeseung in mind. Meanwhile, Heeseung will work on his own music album as a solo artist under BeLift Lab. The agency asked for their love and support for both the group and Heeseung as they begin new journeys.

For the unversed, ENHYPEN was formed through the popular 2020 survival show I-LAND on Mnet. It was a project run by BeLift Lab, which joins HYBE Corporation and CJ ENM. Out of 23 trainees, seven young stars, Jungwon, Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and Ni-ki, secured spots through votes from fans around the world and decisions from producers. They debuted later that year and quickly gained a massive fan following. Heeseung often stood out as a strong vocalist and all-rounder. His exit marks a big change for the team and fans, aka ENGENEs.
