Fans often wonder if arguments or fights happen inside K-pop groups. While some idols say yes, others claim they don’t. In the same way, Girls’ Generation’s Hyoyeon recently shared her honest thoughts on the topic. She opened up about a real conflict she had with her fellow members in the past. Keep reading to find out all about it.
On January 19, 2026, Hyoyeon joined Super Junior’s Donghae and Eunhyuk on their YouTube channel as a guest. She talked openly about how Girls’ Generation handles group practice and opinions. Hyoyeon said she believes a healthy group needs room for honest discussions.
The K-pop idol admitted that she is the straightforward type who asks for solid reasons behind every choice. About a year earlier, her strong way of speaking had hurt some members’ feelings, and they later shared how upset they felt.
She described Girls’ Generation as a group that almost never fights, even though she knows other girl groups have more arguments. Hyoyeon thinks disagreements are normal when people work so closely together, but her members usually step back, think things over, and find a middle ground. When Donghae asked who starts the most trouble, Hyoyeon laughed and said it was her.
The biggest conflict she remembered happened when she was late for an important rehearsal. She had been skiing in Yongpyeong, but her ride back had problems, so she had to arrange another car. She said sorry to the station staff but not right away to her members.
The K-pop idol assumed they would understand her accident and ask if she was okay. Instead, they felt it was unprofessional and focused on the work problem. When she tried to cheer everyone up without apologising, two members quietly told her she should say sorry first. That helped her realise her mistake.

Following which, she apologised a few hours later. There was some awkwardness for a short while, but it passed. Hyoyeon smiled and said she was not good at handling these situations back then and took full blame for it.
