Viral Post Accuses BLACKPINK’s Jisoo Of Racism Toward Lisa

It all began when a post went viral which claimed Jisoo called Lisa “monkey” in a mean way linked to her Southeast Asian looks or skin colour. This made some netizens angry and ignited strong criticism towards the ‘Earthquake’ singer.

Following which, Blackpink fans, also known as Blinks, defended her right away. They said the short video clip was shared without proper context. Jisoo had explained that the nickname was for fun and it stems from Lisa using a monkey emoji a lot in their chats and messages. The group often gave each other fun, silly names.

Fans also shared old clips and articles showing Jisoo’s kind behaviour toward Southeast Asian artists and people. They added that she treats everyone well and has no bad intentions. Many fans felt the accusation was not fair. Some even began to report the post for spreading false claims and damaging her name and reputation. Fans promised to protect Jisoo from what they saw as hateful attacks.
