BLACKPINK’s Leaked Song Lyrics Spark Massive Backlash Online. Here’s Why!
Lots of people shared their anger on social media, saying the words did not feel right for BLACKPINK.
The buzz for BLACKPINK’s new album, Deadline, is really high right now. After waiting a long time since their last full group comeback in 2022, fans, also known as Blinks, are super excited for new music and performances from Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa. But things took a turn when parts of the album leaked online just before the release. Many fans felt sad because a controversial producer named Dr Luke is credited on some tracks. Not just this, leaked lyrics from one song made fans angry because they sounded disrespectful to women. This has created a lot of mixed feelings among Blinks. Read on to know all about it.
BLACKPINK recently dropped a teaser video for their main song called ‘GO’. Right after that, their official channel reportedly posted short audio clips of all the songs on the album by accident. Even though the company quickly took them down, fans had already seen and shared the matter everywhere.
of course a song so distasteful (and arguably so male-centered) like Me & My Girls could only have been written by ….. a bunch of men! (including a rapist) pic.twitter.com/vMrgiGun6G

The biggest concern raised by fans was Dr Luke’s name in the credits for songs like ‘Me & My’ and ‘Champion’. Many people recalled the past serious claims against him, including s*xual assault accusations. Fans felt disappointed that BLACKPINK chose to work with him. They think it does not match the group’s strong and empowering image.
Then, a leaked part of ‘Me & My’ made things worse. Some lines in the lyrics used rude words about women in a way that felt mean or outdated. Online users said it was especially bad because none of the writers for that song were women. Lots of people shared their anger on social media, saying the words did not feel right for BLACKPINK.
