Here’s Why ALLDAY PROJECT Woochan’s Comment Has Fans Divided
Woochan, a member of the ALLDAY PROJECT, found himself at the centre of a heated online discussion after a recent livestream. During the broadcast, a fan wrote a comment, addressing him as “hyung”, a term used by males to refer to an older male, and suggested they date. In response, the K-pop idol said that he wasn’t interested and didn’t see the fan in that way. His tone and choice of words ignited a debate online.

Many fans felt Woochan’s response came across as dismissive or uncomfortable. Some criticised his tone and claimed that it was a negative view toward same-sex relationships.
On the other hand, fans stated that his response was misunderstood. They claimed he simply meant no harm. Some fans pointed out that the fan who made the comment might have been a minor and his reaction could have been about the age difference rather than the fan’s gender. Others added that the translation of the livestream was inaccurate. Therefore, they asked people to consider the context before judging him.
