In a surprising development in the K-pop industry, ADOR has updated its damages lawsuit against former NewJeans member Danielle and her family. The company also adjusted claims involving Min. This move has left fans and online users talking nonstop, with many sharing mixed views. Some see it as a smart step, while others question the company’s true intentions. If you have not followed the story closely, here is a clear look at what happened and why it matters so much.
Fans Aren’t Buying ADOR’s Changes In Damages Lawsuit Against Ex-NewJeans Member Danielle
According to a report on June 4, ADOR reduced the amount of money it is asking for in the lawsuit. The claim dropped from around 43.1 billion Korean won (about 28.1 million US dollars) to 33.1 billion Korean won (roughly 21.6 million US dollars). The company said the change came after it hired new lawyers and took a fresh look at the case.

Last month, ADOR replaced its entire legal team. Five lawyers from the Kim & Chang firm stepped down, and four new ones from Leehan law firm took over. The next court hearing is scheduled for June 11.
Many fans see this change as a tactic. They feel the company might not have strong enough proof against Danielle. Lowering the damages has only made people more doubtful and concerned.
For the unversed, the whole situation started over a year ago. It began with a huge conflict between former CEO Min Hee-jin and the parent company HYBE. After Min left, the five NewJeans members, Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein, said their contracts were no longer valid and tried to work independently. ADOR took them to court. In October 2025, the judge ruled that the contracts were still valid until 2029.

Haerin and Hyein returned to the label soon after. Hanni has also gone back, and Minji is in talks. But ADOR decided it could not continue working with Danielle because of alleged unauthorised activities and harm to the company’s image.
