On December 23, 2025, the Jungto Society website posted details about the wedding of actors Kim Woo Bin and Shin Min Ah. The wedding happened on December 20, 2025, and famous Buddhist monk Pomnyun Sunim led the ceremony. The post also explained why he was chosen.
As per reports, recently, Kim Woo Bin asked the monk to officiate their wedding. Back in 2017, when the Genie, Make A Wish actor was sick with nasopharyngeal cancer, the monk gave him a lot of emotional support. Shin Min Ah also found comfort from the monk while taking care of him. Because of this strong connection, the couple picked him for their big day.
During the ceremony, Pomnyun Sunim spoke kindly about them. He said he has known both for a long time and added that the Hometown Cha Cha Cha actor has helped poor children for over ten years.
He also remembered Kim Woo Bin’s serious health problems in the past. At that time, Shin Min Ah, even though she is not Buddhist, carried a sack of rice on her head and prayed at the Gwanseum Bodhisattva statue on Namsan in Gyeongju. She did this to wish for the Genie, Make A Wish actor’s recovery.
The couple finally tied the knot in a private ceremony in Seoul, and actor Lee Kwang Soo, a long-time friend of Kim Woo Bin, played the role of the host.
