Kim Woo Bin Reveals How He Perfected His Arabic Lines For Genie, Make A Wish!
In the trending show, Kim Woo Bin plays a Genie who wakes up after a thousand years. To make the character feel real, he spent months practising his Arabic pronunciation. During an interview, the actor stated that he practised each Arabic line 1,000 times to memorise it.
With 52 Arabic lines in the script, he listened to them over 50,000 times in total. The unfamiliar language was tough, and he was worried about forgetting it. But he pushed through, balancing memorisation with acting to make his performance natural and strong.

And guess what? His delivery won hearts. He has received positive feedback from viewers even though the show is in hot water. The character’s name, Iblis, which is associated with the devil in Islam, infuriated several fans. Viewers were furious because they believed the show disregarded their religious beliefs.

As more people voiced their opinion online, the backlash intensified. A romantic story centred on a religiously associated wicked figure was difficult for many to accept.
