Justin Baldoni Files Motion To Dismiss Blake Lively Lawsuit Against Him
Justin Baldoni, on November 13, filed a formal request to dismiss Blake Lively’s lawsuit. Court documents obtained by Page Six reveal that Baldoni’s legal team argued that Blake Lively cannot prove s*xual harassment, defamation, and conspiracy claims that she had made against Justin. He also added that his It Ends With Us co-stars cannot prove ‘contract claims’ by insisting that she was an independent contractor and not an employee.
Justin Baldoni and his legal team, led by attorney Alexandra Shapiro, submitted a motion in a late-night filing in which they argued that “no reasonable jury” would find Justin guilty as the allegations made cannot be “speculative, possible or imaginary.”
The actor’s team has also asked for court documents to be sealed from public viewing temporarily. According to DEADLINE, their statement read “The Wayfarer Parties do not believe that much of this material should be sealed, especially to the extent it includes Blake Lively’s contemporaneous communications with others about her work on the film, which are central to the dispute at hand.” However, they requested that the court not rule on this letter motion to seal for one week, so that the parties can meet and confer, and so that any party may file motions for further sealing if they want to do so.
