From Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina’s Jigra to Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri’s Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, this week promises a ride of diverse genres! So, get ready to dive into the world of entertainment with this list of films and web series you can look forward to this week!

1. Jigra (Theatres)

Directed by Vasan Bala, the story follows the life of Alia Bhatt (Satya) a doting sister who will go to any lengths to save her brother Vedang Raina after he was sentenced to death for false accusations. (Ankur). Presented by Viacom18 Studios, Dharma Productions, and Eternal Sunshine Productions, Jigra will hit the theatres on October 11, 2024.

2. Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video (Theatres)

As per the trailer, the film promises a rollercoaster ride of drama and comedy. Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, chaos takes place in a small town after a private video of Vicky and Vidya gets released in the 90s. Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Vala Video starring Rajkummar Rao, Triptii Dimri, Vijay Raaz and Mallika Sherwat will be released on October 11, 2024. 

3. Vettaiyan The Hunter (Theatres)

What happens when a ruthless crime is faced by a bold police officer who doesn’t follow the rules? Thrill and action! The police officer starts to find out the cause of the rise of crime in his area by using strong methods. His actions show he is willing to go against the usual ways to bring back order. It stars Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan in pivotal roles and will be released on October 10.

4. Sarfira (Disney+Hotstar)

Directed by Sudha Kongara, Sarfira is a Hindi remake of Soorarai Potru. The film follows Vir Mhatre, an ex-Air Force officer, who dreams of creating a low-cost airline for underprivileged people in India. However, after being rejected by venture capitalists, Vir’s partner, Rani, becomes his partner and starts a bakery. The film explores the layers of monopoly in the airline business and the restrictions imposed by poverty. Starring Akshay Kumar and Radhika Madan in lead roles, it will be released on OTT on October 11.

 

5. Stree 2 (Prime Video)

In this sequel, Chanderi’s gang faces a new supernatural power, Sarkata, targeting modern women to restore patriarchy. Vicky, Chanderi Ka Rakshak, is trusted to take down the monster. Will they be able to fight Sarkata and restore peace and safety? Starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee and Pankaj Tripathi, it will be released on OTT on October 11.

6. Raat Jawan Hai (Sony LIV)

Starring Barun Sobti, Priya Bapat and Anjali Anand in lead roles,  the story revolves around three modern, young working parents dealing with the challenges of adult life, kids and friendship. The trailer promises a fun ride of their ups and downs and showcases a real side of parenthood. Find out how these three adults manage their lives on October 11.

7. Lonely Planet (Netflix)

Directed by Susannah Grant, during a retreat in Morocco, a woman encounters a young man, and their friendship quickly blossoms into a passionate love affair. As they spend time together, their bond becomes more strong and deep. Starring Laura Dern and Liam Hemsworth in lead roles, it will premiere on October 11.

8. Family By Choice (Viki)

Even though they are not biologically related, Kim San Ha, Yun Ju Won, and Kang Hae Jun share a close bond. After being abandoned by their biological parents, they reunite ten years later. Ju Won resents them both, however, the boys keep falling for her. What will happen? Will they be able to form a romantic relationship? Find out on October 9. 

9. Citadel: Diana (Prime Video)

Since Citadel was taken down by the Manticore gang, Diana Cavalieri, a secret agent from Citadel, finds herself alone and stuck in enemy territory. Her only chance to escape is by trusting Edo Zani, the heir of Manticore in Italy. Will she be able to escape? Find out on October 10. 

10. Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft (Netflix)

It stars Hayley Atwell, Richard Armitage, and Zoe Boyle and follows the story of the main character, Lara Croft, as she discovers a new place as her territory. This animated series will premiere on October 10. 

11. Outer Banks Season 4 Part 1 (Netflix)

After the Pogues return to the Outer Banks they find gold at El Dorado and want to live regular lives. They create a safe spot called Poguelandia 2.0 and open a bait, tackle, and tour shop to make money. However, financial challenges occur and they have to think about starting a new adventure. It will be released on October 10.

12. Disclaimer (Apple TV+)

It is written and directed by five-time Academy Award winner, Alfonso Cuarón and follows the story of Catherine Ravenscroft, a well-known journalist who discovers a strange book that reveals a dark truth from her past. As she reads, she realizes that the story reveals details she has kept hidden for so long. What will be her next step? Find out on October 11!

13. The Menendez Brothers (Netflix)

If you are socially active, you must have heard about this duo! It is a documentary that explores the Menendez crime and trial and showcases new audio interviews with the brothers. Find out their details and new footage on October 7.

14.Khel Khel Mein (Netflix)

Directed by Mudassar Aziz, it is a romantic comedy film set during the wedding of Radhika’s younger sister. The film features a game where each person’s phone is kept unlocked for a night, and their messages and calls are read and answered in front of all. It stars Akshay Kumar, Vaani Kapoor, Taapsee Pannu and Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal and Pragya Jaiswal and will be released on OTT on October 10.

15. Vedaa (Zee5)

The story is about a young woman who confronts and fights against a controlling system. It is directed by Nikkhil Advani and stars John Abraham and Sharvari in lead roles. It will be released on OTT on October 10.
