K-pop girl group TWICE recently released their new album and song titled ‘This Is For.’ The song is a fun pop anthem with the message to empower and hype up women. Oldest member Jeongyeon stood out to many fans because the idol wore a crop top after a long time. A specific scene in the music video where her waist is revealed is catching the eyes of netizens.
TWICE’s Jeongyeon had taken a long hiatus from her activities with TWICE a few years ago due to health concerns. A medication that she took for her health issues caused Jeongyeon to gain some weight. While fans love her for who she is, ever since that time, Jeongyeon has been the target of hate from many trolls.
Recently, she appeared to lose weight and started wearing more fitted clothes. Fans were glad that their favourite idol had started feeling comfortable in her body to wear whatever she wanted to. However, some think the scene in the music video where Jeongyeon is wearing a crop top was edited.
People have pointed out that Jeongyeon’s waist shape in the music video, when compared to her other pictures, seems to be altered even when she is wearing the same outfit. This has angered many fans as they blame the group’s company, JYP Entertainment, for promoting a false sense of beauty. TWICE’s fans love Jeongyeon for who she is and do not want her to change according to the beauty standards.
They want her to feel comfortable in her own body without any criticism. JYP Entertainment has not shared a statement regarding the allegations of photoshop, but if true, fans strongly condemn them for it.
