Janvhi Kapoor Defends Pure Intentions Behind Bawaal, Says “A Jewish Professor Didn’t Find It Offensive”

Even thinking about the Holocaust in Germany, the film Bawaal was an attempt to draw similarities between relationship problems and the dark period in history The film featured Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan and was a Nitesh Tiwari directorial. Some people highly praised the film while others slammed it for making devaluing the sufferings of the World War 2 victims to something as petty as relationship issues. Jahvi Kapoor came forward to defend this argument and shared the response of a Jewish professor in her film Bawaal.

While Bawaal was liked by the audience, it also received heavy criticism from the public for trying to draw similarities between the Holocaust victims and Janvhi and Varun’s relationship problems. People opined that the comparisons made in film were bizarre. However, Jahnvi Kapoor has come forward to defend the intentions of her film and has shared the feedback of a Jewish professor who she knows personally. As per a report by ETimes, Janvhi Kapoor talked about the Jewish professor who was touched by their film Bawaal and did not find anything offensive about it. She also added that the professor had lost his ancestor to the Holocaust. He also believed that perceiving films also depends on the individual’s perception. 

Jahnvi Kapoor firmly believed that Bawaal was made with pure intentions and strived to show the inner turmoil in a person’s life, as per the report.
