Janhvi Kapoor Recalls Seeing Her Picture On An Adult Site

While speaking with Raj Shamani, Janhvi Kapoor revealed how she came across a picture of herself on an adult website. The actress revealed not knowing if it was a deepfake. Janhvi stated that this happened during her IT classes. She told the host that during these classes, the boys used to go on such “sites for fun.” She stated that her picture was there, adding that it was a “weird experience.” While trying to rationalise this situation, Janhvi thought that this is the cost one has to pay. The actress stated that there is no mortality in a lot of such things on social media. Having said that, she revealed that her perspective has now changed and that these AI-generated pictures still affect her today. She told Shamani that she still isn’t at “peace” with the situation. Janhvi revealed that AI pictures of her are circulating online, and official news pages sometimes even share them. Such pictures show her in outfits she hasn’t worn or in poses she hasn’t taken.

Why Is This Problematic?

Deepfake pictures are affecting people more than one might think. More strict laws and regulations should be in place to lessen this. Many minor girls are becoming targets of the same; such targeting can mentally affect them for a long time. What’s scary is that at present people have much easier access to AI, which they are using to create fake images and videos of people. It’s time that we all speak up and bring in the changes that are required.
