Bollywood star Janhvi Kapoor is making her debut at the Cannes Film Festival, and we couldn’t be more proud. She is there for the premiere of her film Homebound ft Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa. While this is an iconic moment for her, the actress misses her mom, Sridevi, a lot. Kapoor admitted that Cannes was her mother’s favourite place and that it felt weird being there without her.

Janhvi Kapoor Misses Sridevi At Cannes

During a Get Ready With Me segment with Vogue India, Janhvi Kapoor talked about her experience at the Cannes Film Festival. The actress got emotional being at her mother’s favourite destination and revealed that they would come to Cannes for multiple summer holidays with her. Kapoor remembered accompanying Sridevi for every milestone she would achieve and said that they would travel as a family.

Now that she was back there, her dad, Boney Kapoor, and sister Khushi Kapoor came to celebrate her win, but it still felt weird without her mom. Janhvi Kapoor ended by saying that she misses her mother a lot. Her homage to Sridevi at her red carpet debut made everyone emotional. The actress wore a beautiful Tarun Tahiliani ensemble reflecting the rich Indian heritage and a tribute to her late mother.

The actor is visiting the film festival alongside the Homebound cast, which includes Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa, director Neeraj Ghaywan, and producer Karan Johar. Neeraj’s film Homebound was presented in the Cannes Film Festival’s Un Certain Regard section. Homebound depicts the story of two friends from a village in North India whose bond is tested when they seek careers as police officers.
