Massive Donations Pour In From K-pop Idols After Tragic Hong Kong Fire
Popular boy group Stray Kids sent one million Hong Kong dollars, which is around 128,000 US dollars, to the Hong Kong Red Cross. They shared that their hearts ache for every person suffering and they wish the city strength to rise again.
SM Entertainment stepped up with the same amount, one million Hong Kong dollars, to buy basic necessities and whatever families need right now. The company’s groups RIIZE gave 250,000 dollars and aespa donated half a million, all through the Red Cross.
BLACKPINK and Babymonster’s company, YG Entertainment, sent one million Hong Kong dollars and thanked every firefighter and volunteer who ran toward danger and protected people.
K-pop group I-DLE quietly sent one million Chinese yuan, which is close to 200 million won, to a trusted relief group. The group’s member Yuqi had already posted a simple praying hands emoji with the words, “I hope nothing happens.”
