IVE’s Ahn Yujin Is Against Generative AI Usage For Fan Letters
Generative AI has become a part of our everyday vocabulary. From academic assignments to curating travel itineraries, people have been using AI tools to generate things they would’ve figured out earlier. People have been fairly divided about its integration into daily life. IVE’s Ahn Yujin had a serious conversation with a DIVE at a fan meeting.
YUJIN shows her displeasure towards the usage of AI in an AI-written fan letters and that it “upsets” her during a fansign:
“Don’t write a fan letter if you’re going to use ChatGPT. If I sense that you’ve used AI, I’m not going to hold back.” pic.twitter.com/8vWEvGw5Br

A fan asked Yujin which scenario appealed to her the least from a given list. Her top choices were using AI to write a fan letter and having another IVE member as their bias. The fan proceeded to say that it was highly likely that fans generate letters using AI.
Ahn Yujin was surprised by this revelation. She added that people might use ChatGPT to work on their homework, but it was forbidden in letters. The fan then tried to defend AI users, saying that some might find it difficult to express themselves fully. However, Yujin clarified that those using generative AI should let her know. Additionally, she said if they were going to use ChatGPT, fans should not write her letters.
Netizens Praise IVE’s Ahn Yujin’s Anti-AI Stance
Many X (formerly known as Twitter) users were impressed by Yujin’s response at the fansign. The personal touch in letters makes them so coveted in the first place. Some failed to understand why fans would want to use an AI tool in the first place. Others even questioned how these letters could reflect fans’ thoughts if AI was generating them.
