Ishaan Khatter On Masculinity

Being a man for Ishaan correlates to the relationship between men and women. For him, masculinity is defined by the fact that a single mother raised him. The actor’s parents Rajesh Khatter and Neelima Azeem split when he was 6 years old.

The Dhadak star also touched on how working with female filmmakers has helped him understand the female gaze. Ishaan stated that he has been subjected and privy to it; he has been able to understand the female gaze to some extent. The actor stated that in his eight-year film career, he has worked with 50% of female filmmakers. He added that understanding different perspectives is a huge strength and that is what cinema is for.
