Shanoo Sharma On Ranveer Singh’s Exit From YRF
Ranveer, who launched his Bollywood career with the YRF banner in Band Baaja Baaraat in 2010, has collaborated with the studio on some of their high-profile projects. Some of these are Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, Gunday, Kill Dil, Befikre, and Jayeshbhai Jordaar. His exit from the production behemoth, therefore, left everyone wondering.
Shanoo dismissed any rumors of tension, however. She said Ranveer and YRF would have had good reasons for breaking up, and sometimes one has to make such a decision for progress. “It didn’t feel like a betrayal or something cruel,” she said, adding that it’s natural for people and businesses to change.
She also explained that she still maintains a personal relationship with Ranveer in spite of the professional change. “He’s still my best friend,” she mentioned, adding that nothing changed for them because of his YRF leaving. “He had to look forward, and he did what was best for him.”
On the professional side, Shanoo is basking in the success of Saiyaara, a recent YRF release featuring newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. Cast by Shanoo herself, the Mohit Suri directorial has been a huge box office success, earning more than ₹500 crore across the world.
